Financial Aid

Financial aid opportunities are managed through the OU Health Sciences Center Office of Student Financial Aid. Learn more here: http://www.ouhsc.edu/financialservices/SFA/

Students with questions or problems involving financial issues may contact OUHSC Student Financial Services at at 405-271-2118.

It is recommended that students submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) when it opens on October 1st each year. A student may list up to 12 schools to receive their FAFSA information so they can submit the FAFSA without knowing their admission status. However, some aid is given on a first-come, first-served basis so it is best to submit as soon as possible.

Unlike undergraduate or graduate education, health professional program students are considered independent by the federal government and therefore do not have to include a parent's information in order to submit the FAFSA although if they can submit a parent's information, they may have additional aid options.

OUHSC's Title IV Code required for the FAFSA is 005889. Please note this is different from the OU Norman code!

Scholarships & Other Resources

OUCOP is fortunate to have many endowments that provide scholarship opportunities for our current students. Thanks to the generosity of our donors we award well nearly $750,000 dollars in scholarships annually.

There are 3 scholarships available for first year students: the FastStart scholarship awarded to applicants who apply in our Fall Priority application track (amounts and the number of scholarships awarded vary based on funding), the Reinhaus scholarship available to first year students in the fall semester they begin (application is provided at orientation), and academic Mosier scholarships awarded to first year students in the spring semester of their first year based on their academic achievement in the fall semester.

Students are notified annually when the COP Scholarship Application is available and all students are encouraged to submit the common application that is used by the Scholarship & Awards Committee to distribute funds.

In addition to COP scholarships, scholarship opportunities may also be available through OUHSC or other sources. A popular FREE website to search for scholarships is FastWeb.

Many students also look at alternative federal funding sources such as the military, U.S. Public Health Service Corps, and Indian Health Service.
