OUCOP Recruitment & Admissions Response to COVID-19

IMPORTANT UPDATES REGARDING RECRUITMENT & ADMISSIONS PROCESSES

UPDATED: 06/30/2020

Dear Prospective Students & Families:

We understand that these are unprecedented times and therefore, unprecedented measures are being taken to minimize public health and safety risks related to the recruitment and admissions processes for the Pharm.D. program. While not ideal or optimal, we are navigating through these processes to continue our mission of producing quality pharmacists for the state of Oklahoma and beyond. Therefore, the following steps will be taken:

  • We are suspending all on-campus visits/advisement appointments/recruitment events at least through December 31, 2020. We will continue to advise prospective students via telephone or Zoom appointments or email. To book an appointment, please go to Visit OU College of Pharmacy. We are planning a series of webinar/Zoom recruitment events to be held throughout Fall 2020. Please check often for updates.

  • Additionally, we will not be attending any off-campus recruitment events that have not already been canceled or postponed at least through July 31, 2020.

  • For prospective students whose college or university is offering to let students the option to have spring coursework graded as Pass/No Pass, Pass/Fail or Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory, the COP will accept a Pass or a Satisfactory as acceptable for successful completion of any pre-requisite courses they are enrolled in this spring semester.  As we progress through Summer 2020 and Fall 2020 semesters, we will evaluate if the environment warrants continuing to accept these credits should they be offered by your college/university again.

  • The PCAT is no longer required for Fall 2021 admission. If you have below a 3.0 overall GPA, you will want to contact the Director of Recruitment & Admissions to determine if it would be in your best interest to go ahead and sit for the PCAT exam in order to be competitive for an interview.

As we all work together to weather this public health crisis, we appreciate your understanding and flexibility as we adjust our processes and also ask for your patience if any of this information changes based on the rapidly evolving environment we find ourselves in. We will continue to update this page as any changes occur so please check this page regularly.
