Three Patent Awards Presented to College of Pharmacy Faculty

Dr. Michael Ihnat, Dr. Tom Pento and Dr. Anne Pereira each received OUHSC Patent Awards on Monday, April 23 at the faculty spring awards ceremony for recognition of their patents awarded during the past year. Congratulations to these three faculty members!
Dr. Michael Ihnat is an associate professor in the Dept. of Pharmaceutical Sciences. His main research interest is pre-clinical drug development and focuses currently on cancer and inflammatory diseases.
Dr. J. Thomas Pento, professor emeritus, Dept. of Pharmaceutical Sciences, has devoted his research to the development of chemopreventive strategies designed to control or prevent the metastatic process in breast cancer.
Dr. Anne Pereira, associate dean of research and professor, Dept. of Pharmaceutical Sciences devotes her research in the investigation of the role of a novel inflammatory mediator known as CAP37.
