Administration
 
• Reports to the Chair of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences
• College or university administrative duties may be assigned by either the Dean of the College of Pharmacy or the Chair of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences
 
University, Professional Organizations, and Community Activities
 
• Participates on departmental, college and university committees
• Participates in appropriate scientific, academic and community organizations at the local, regional and national level
 
Education
 
• Provides didactic teaching to professional and graduate students in their area of expertise
• Assists in the oversight of the professional student laboratories as related to their area of expertise
• Provides opportunities for professional students to work and learn in the laboratory as a means to enhance their pharmaceutical education
• Provides opportunities for graduate students to work and learn in the laboratory as a means of obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy degree or Pharm. D./M.S. degree
• Provides opportunities for post doctoral fellows and other selected colleagues, trainees and students to work and learn in the laboratory
 
Research
 
• Develops, implements, and completes independent or collaborative research
• Maintains adequate grant support for research endeavors
• Disseminates new and/or applied knowledge through peer-reviewed publications

 

Required

• Ph.D. or equivalent degree in a pharmaceutical sciences discipline or closely related field
• Must meet requirements to work in the United States

Preferred

• A record of meaningful involvement in the education of professional and graduate students
• Postdoctoral experience
• A strong track record of significant extramural research funding or industrial productivity
