The mission of the Department of Pharmacy: Clinical and Administrative Sciences - Tulsa is to improve the health of the public through excellence in teaching, discovery, and service.
Welcome to the Department of Pharmacy: Clinical & Administrative Sciences—Tulsa website. Our department, in conjunction with other departments composing the College of Pharmacy, offers a host of professional and post-graduate training opportunities. Pharmacy continues to evolve as one of the most rewarding careers, with an increasing number of practice alternatives, ranging from independent community pharmacy, chain pharmacy, acute care, long-term care, managed care, government, clinical and research settings, to name but a few. The opportunities for pharmacists will only increase as society’s needs for medication therapy management becomes more acute.
Our department contributes to the teaching, research, and service missions of the College in myriad ways. Our faculty offer professional students with a wide range of introductory and advanced practice experiences, ranging from psychiatry, pediatric, and internal medicine pharmacy, to anticoagulation and geriatrics clinics. We offer post-graduate PGY1 general and PGY2 residencies in ambulatory care. The department has developed a niche for service to at-risk populations. Our social and administrative science faculty offer Master’s and PhD degrees, and all have active research programs in various areas, including health literacy, pharmacoepidemiology, pharmacoeconomics, practice-based innovations, pharmacy organizational dynamics, and pharmaceutical goods and services marketing. Please contact us with any interest. We look forward to hearing from you.
