Yvette obtained her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University School of Pharmacy in 1988 and completed an ASHP-accredited pharmacy practice residency at W.W. Hastings Indian Hospital in Tahlequah. After two more years as a pharmacist with the Indian Health Service, Yvette entered the Doctor of Pharmacy program at The University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy, graduating in 1993. Following completion of a post-doctoral residency in Infectious Diseases/Pharmacokinetics, she became a member of the OU College of Pharmacy faculty. Yvette is currently an adjunct faculty member with the college and a full-time clinical pharmacy specialist at Norman Regional Hospital in Norman, Oklahoma.

During her pharmacy career, Yvette has remained active in several pharmacy organizations, such as the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP). She is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) as designated by the Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties. This is pharmacy’s highest credential in the practice of pharmacotherapy.

On the local front, Yvette has been an active member of the Oklahoma Society of Health-System Pharmacists (OSHP). She served as Secretary from 1995-1998 and then a three-year term as President from 1999-2002. Yvette was named the OSHP Pharmacist of the Year in 1999.

Outside of pharmacy, Yvette is married to Jay Morrison, a “Weatherford-ite” whom she met while in pharmacy school at Southwestern (he’s not a pharmacist, by the way). To date, their “child” is in the form of a Harley Davidson. In addition to riding on the back of a motorcycle, Yvette’s other hobbies include jogging and coordinating social activities with her friends.
