
Upon graduation from the OU College of Pharmacy in 1992, Mark joined Med-X Drug in Tulsa as a Pharmacist-Assistant Manager. Since 1993, he has been with IPS Pharmacies, Inc., and now serves as Pharmacist-in-Charge of their health maintenance organization in-house pharmacy. He oversees clinical intervention documentation and is involved in prescription cost management and formulary compliance. This past year he developed and implemented a flu vaccine program for IPS in Tulsa. As a student, Mark was inducted into the Rho Chi Honor Society, and was the recipient of the Merck Award as a senior for "Outstanding Research and Scholastic Achievement." Since graduation he has remained active as an Alumnus of Phi Delta Chi Pharmaceutical Fraternity. He has also been a very active member of the College of Pharmacy Alumni Association, serving as President, and, more recently, as Chairman of the Alumni Affairs Board. As president, he organized and successfully carried out the first Alumni Golf Tournament, and remains active in its success, now in its third year. He is serving as chair of this year's tournament to be held in May in conjunction with a College Continuing Education program. Mark is a member of the Oklahoma Pharmacists Association and served on its Legislative Committee from 1996 through 1998. He is a preceptor for the Southwestern Oklahoma State University School of Pharmacy. Serving on the American Heart Association Golf Tournament Committee in 1999, Mark has helped guide development of one of the largest fund-raising events of the year for that organization. Mark is currently a student in the Alternative Pathway to the Doctor of Pharmacy degree program, provided by a joint effort of Southwestern Oklahoma State University School of Pharmacy and The University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy. |
