Jenean Ann Young received the Doctor of Pharmacy degree from The University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy in 1999. She is also a graduate of the University of Houston College of Pharmacy where she received the baccalaureate degree in Pharmacy in 1981. Jenean began her career in pharmacy by accepting a position in the Outpatient Clinic of the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. Subsequently, she became Clinical Coordinator of Outpatient Services at the cancer center where she was involved in outpatient education of chemotherapy regimens. She left the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in 1985 to pursue a career in the home infusion industry where she was the Director of Pharmacy for the Houston branch of a national home infusion company, and subsequently was promoted to Operations Manager, overseeing Pharmacy, Nursing, Reimbursements, and Purchasing for the company. In 1994, Jenean decided to return to her first "hospital" love, M.D. Anderson, and took a position in the Investigational Drugs Department of the Pharmacy. She remained there until beginning the Doctor of Pharmacy degree program at The University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy in June of 1997. She completed that program in May of 1999 and undertook a one year Infectious Disease residency under Dr. Chris Rathbun. In July of 2000, she accepted a position as Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, where she is currently developing clinical programs for the department of pharmacy at that institution. Jenean was born and raised in Texas, but now makes Tulsa her home with the real love of her life, Tony Palmer and their yellow lab, Carson. |
