Kristin received the Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 1996 and the Doctor of Pharmacy degree from The University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy in 1999. She then completed a specialty residency in Pediatric Pharmacotherapy at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia.

Kristin joined the faculty of the University of Missouri in Kansas City (UMKC) School of Pharmacy in 2000 and has been the co-advisor for the Student Society of Health-System Pharmacists since 2001. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice at UMKC and provides clinical pharmacy services to the neonatal intensive care unit at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
