Linda received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy in 1997. Following this, she received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy in 1999. She then pursued a specialty residency in internal medicine at the University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy/Brackenridge Hospital in Austin, Texas, which she completed in June 2000.

Following her residency, Linda accepted a faculty position at the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. Her practice site is at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, New Jersey. At the hospital, she serves as a clinical pharmacy specialist in infectious diseases for the physicians within the Division of Infectious Diseases. She participates in daily patient care rounds with the attending and resident physicians, and she provides pharmacotherapy services at the HIV clinic located behind the hospital. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Linda also precepts clerkship students on their clinical rotations at her hospital. She also teaches lectures in therapeutics and pharmacokinetics at Rutgers, and she coordinates the Physical Assessment course provided in the fifth year of the pharmacy curriculum.

Over the past few years, Linda has been active in several pharmacy organizations, including the New Jersey Society of Health-System Pharmacists (NJSHP), for whom she served as Director of Educational Affairs from 2001-2003. She received the 2004 NJSHP Pharmacist Practitioner Award at the organization’s Annual Meeting held in March 2004. She also serves as faculty advisor for the NJSHP Student Chapter. She is a member of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, Infectious Diseases Society of America, and the New Jersey Infectious Diseases Society.

Linda’s hobbies include hiking and spending time outdoors with her fiancé. She will be getting married on May 1, 2004 to Joshua J. Spooner, Pharm.D., Director of Clinical Business Solutions at Advanced Concepts in Philadelphia. They will be married in Newport, Rhode Island, as they both grew up in New England. They will live in Edgewater Park, New Jersey, a suburb of Philadelphia that is conveniently located in between both of their places of work.
