
Born in Hong Kong, Victor Law came to the United States in 1971 and studied Pharmacy at the University of Oklahoma and graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree in 1976. He was a member of the Phi Eta Sigma (Freshman Honorary) as well as the Rho Chi (Pharmacy Honorary) Fraternity. He was the President of the Chinese Student Association and received 3 years of Cleo Cross Memorial Scholarship. In his senior year, he was the recipient of the Upjohn Company award for Scholastic Achievement. Before opening his own Pharmacy in 1987, Victor served as the Manager for both the Rite-Aid and Sav-On pharmacy chains over a period of 10 years. Throughout the years, Victor has been very active in politics, sports, social and professional functions. He has served as the head coach for the La Salle High School Varsity Tennis team, President of the Don Bosco High School Booster club, President of the American Chinese Tennis Association and member of the San Marino Tennis Association Board. Professionally, Victor served as the President of the California Pharmacist Association in the San Gabriel Valley. He is currently the Chairman of the Board for UPNI, a network of 1200 community pharmacies in Southern California. In 2006, Victor received the Bowl of Hygeia Award (Community Service and Pharmacist of the Year) from California Pharmacists Association and was voted the Role Model of the Month by television station KSCI Channel 18 in November, 2006. In 2006, Victor was appointed by the speaker of the state assembly to the California State Board of Behavioral Science and currently services as the chairman of the board. Victor is also serving as the chairman of the board for Garfield Medical Center. Politically, he organized many fundraisers for both city councils and State Assembly while serving as a member of the CPHA political action board. Victor has two sons, Gary and Simon and resides in Pasadena, California. |
