
Jack Coffey received the Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy in 1957 and is currently serving the College as Associate Dean for External and Professional Affairs and Clinical Associate Professor at the College of Pharmacy Tulsa Schusterman Campus. He has served the College in numerous roles in the past, including Director of Experiential Programs, Adjunct Professor and member of the College of Pharmacy National Advisory Board. Jack entered the United States Air Force and was a Captain in the Medical Service Corps, stationed in England for 3 years. After returning to the U.S., Jack began his career in pharmacy in Shawnee, Oklahoma, and eventually assumed corporate ownership in three pharmacies. Additionally, he has been a Consultant Pharmacist for three nursing homes and Associate Director of Pharmacy at the Shawnee Regional Hospital. He has been extensively involved in the Shawnee community through membership and leadership in numerous civic organizations, including the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, and Jaycees. He has also been a City of Shawnee Commissioner (Councilman) and a member of the Shawnee Industrial Development Authority as well as member of Advisory Boards for Oklahoma Baptist University and St. Gregory’s College. Oklahoman to serve on the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education, serving two consecutive six year terms. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacist and the American College of Apothecaries as well as a member of many other pharmacy professional organizations. Jack has received numerous awards and honors, including Rotarian of the Year (1975); the Ralph D. Bienfang Outstanding Practitioner Award (1981); the A.H. Robins Bowl of Hygeia (1982); Merck Sharp and Dohme Outstanding Service Award (1982); the Albert E. Rosica, Jr. (1983); J. Leon Lascoff (1993); and Victor H. Morgenroth, Jr. (1999) Memorial Awards from the American College of Apothecaries; the National Pharmacy Preceptor Award (1987); NARD Independent Pharmacist of the Year (1988); the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy Distinguished Service Award (1993-94); Shawnee Business Person of the Year (1994); and the Distinguished Alumni Award (2001). Jack and his wife Fran have two children, Allyson and Catherine. They also have two grandchildren, Madison and Jackson. |
