Licensed in Oklahoma in 1978, Lou Ann has practiced in a variety of settings, including community pharmacy (both as relief and manager), chain pharmacy, 3rd party consultant, and instructor for pharmacy students (in lab and on-site in the pharmacy).

Her family still lives on the homestead claimed by her great-grandfather in the Oklahoma Land Run of '89. Their 3 children are the 5th generation to live in the 100 yr. old home in Del City built by her great-grandfather and grandfather.
