A 1968 graduate of The University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy, Calvin Anthony is owner of Tiger Drug in Stillwater. He also started and owned four pharmacies in the Stillwater area, and has since helped young pharmacists start their careers in independent pharmacy by selling those pharmacies to them.

Calvin has served on the board of the National Home Infusion Association, is a past president of the Oklahoma Pharmacists Association, and is involved with a number of other professional societies. He serves on the National Advisory Board of the OU College of Pharmacy and the Advisory Council of the University of Texas College of Pharmacy. He is the former mayor of Stillwater, past vice-president of the Stillwater Chamber of Commerce, past chairman of the Stillwater United Way Campaign, and served as chairman of the board of local banks while residing in Stillwater.

Calvin is a recipient of numerous awards and citations, at both the state and national levels, including the coveted Bowl of Hygeia in 1986 and the Ralph D. Bienfang Outstanding Practitioner Award. He has lectured extensively throughout the U.S. and in several foreign countries on community pharmacy issues, as well as written articles concerning the future of community pharmacy practice. The University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy recently established the Linda H. and Calvin J. Anthony Distinguished Entrepreneur in Pharmacy Lecture Series with Calvin serving as the inaugural speaker.

Calvin was elected to the Oklahoma House of Representatives for District 34 in November 1992 where he headed up the state's health care reform task force and quickly rose to be Assistant Majority Floor Leader.

He became an officer of the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA - formerly National Association of Retail Druggists) in 1984, twice served as Legislative Affairs Committee chairman, as Executive Committee chairman for three years, and as NCPA president from October 1993 until October 1994.

Having been named Executive Vice President of NCPA effective the summer of 1996, he and his wife, Linda, now reside in Northern Virginia with their son, Andrew.
